Hello all Im new to the forum, been welding for a good few years now mainly mig on cars etc but originally learnt with a tig when I was younger. I had been wanting to get a tig for years but the price always put me off, anywho just bought a cobel ac dc 200 amp with pedel etc for 500 notes which seemed reasonable although I was wairy as there jap imports but the warehouse is based in the uk and they seem to sell a lot of them so I took a gamble. first impressions are good with really good results on steel, but when I came to try a bit of ally im unable to get a puddle started, just some splattering or a hole if i turn the amps up. I have all the right bits but im unsure of what some of the setting nobs do and the instructions are useless. if anyone could enlighten me it would me much appreciated.
the nobs are start arc,end arc, peak valle, valley, pulse freq, duty cycle, post gas, clearance affect,
i will post up a pic when i get a chance. so far i understand that peak valle is main amps, post gas, clearance is ac dc balance.
I am sure i am being a tool and the tool is not at fault. hopefully
Thanks in advance. cheers Matt
