I have just purchased a nertablock th260p ac/dc tig welder ( i believe saf make them but not sure ) which i used for years at work but i got made redundant and the welder went to auction but i seem to remember when my boss bought it he said it could be converted to run on 240v but at the moment it is wired for 3 phase i have took the sides off to see what's what and the cable coming into the unit has only 3 wires brown and blue which i believe are 2 live feeds to run on 2 phase and green/yellow earth then on the other side of the welder there is a little window with 220 240 380 415 440 500 wrote on it but it looks like that windowis on upside down i.e writing is upside down unless it has been put on that way because the connector block behind it is wired upside down
the connector block behind it has got all the terminals down the right hand side all connected together with a wire attached at the bottom and the ones on the left all have seperate wires coming off them and there is a link plate across from left to right across the second from bottom labeled up as the 240 should that be the 440 i'm not sure with the glass window being poss upside down and therefore could this type of welder be wired to run on 240 if so where do you get your neutral supply
SORRY FOR GOING ON
especially on my first post but hope you can help me thanks in advance (will now go and introduce myself in newbie section
