So, I need to renew / refresh my abrasive wheels for the insurance company. Theres nowhere up here thats doing it in person at the moment due to the current situation. Its normally just the local college but theyre shut at the moment.
Anyhow I've been looking online to find something even if its just a stop gap to pacify the insurers. I found this https://www.safetyservicesdirect.com/abrasive-wheels-online-training-course-4578-p.asp Ordinarily I HATE these with a passion. I've been made to do them for several employers in the past and I normally bust them out in the minimum time, learn sod all and tick the box for the employer and move on with my day! Are they even worth the 'paper' theyre written on? I always maintained that they arent a good way of training when I worked for others, but in the current situation needs must I suppose. Im looking at it that some certification is better than none. Just wondered what peoples thoughts were please?
As an aside, I had my annual inspection from Vulcan this week for the air systems etc in workshop. When I was said I was surprised to see he'd made it over, he said the HSE / Government have decided that HSE inspections and testing are essential workers.
