Abrasive grit no's ????????

does the higher no mean finer grit on a ginding disc or is it lower?
I bought some of this and it is a bit course.

Yes, the higher the number the finer the grit, 60 is low and course

36 grit very coarse, 1200 grit very fine......

Same as sandpaper and other abrasives.

You can get quite fine discs, the sort that fit on a backing pad.

100x16, is that the black hard disc type?

Sounds like it. 16mm would be the diameter of the centre hole. But I would expect a third no. the thickness of the disc.

They sound like fibre discs for a 4" grinder with backing pad. 60 grit is good for taking welds down and removing heavy rust.

yes sanding disc.I bought 50 cause it was cheap!
