Abicor Binzel or Futuris Torch?

Hi,

I need a new torch for my 220A MIG. It currently has a 150A Trafimet torch fitted which isn't up to running at max power.

My two preferred suppliers are offering either:

A) Abicor Binzel MB25AK for £75 + VAT delivered

or

B) Futuris MB25 / 250 A for £49 + VAT delivered

I get the impression the Abicor will be rather better and probably worth the extra but would welcome any opinions.

We use the Binzel MB25AK ergo at work and they stand up to the abuse of production welding very well. The most common damage is to the swan neck due to banging on bench to remove spatter and hanging the torch by the swan neck when not in use although they occaisionally throw me a "curve ball" ...

Go MB25 every time, simple & cheap for spares, worth looking out for special offers, we've got one running whilst stocks last but the beauty of them is spares availability & if it's genuine Binzel it still carries a mark of quality.

Sorry I should have made clear go for genuine Binzel as opposed to copy stuff, you don't know where it's made or how good it is.

That Binzel sounds expensive, we get MB36's for £68+vat (after being quoted £120 from another place!!!)

I'd have the Binzel, I ordered an MB501 today.

We use Parweld ergo ones mostly at work. I have a parweld on my own at home too. Take all the standard bits.
As WW suggested, got for an MB25.
