I'm off to see if I can secure one of these tomorrow with the thanks to @daxliniere for the heads up.

The model is E100 and the machine#nr60706

For various reasons I've only got the use of a family hatch back so I'm going to have to try& remove the drill head, the table and the foot plate from the pillar.
I'm sure it can be done but I'm hoping that you can tell me if I need a full socket set, if so metric or imperial?

To remove the drill head, is it just a matter of releasing the clamps at the rear and lifting the head up and off or is it more involved. It probably weighs a ton & my days of playing Charles Atlas are long gone so any tips that'll make it easier?

Ditto removing the table & the foot plate; any tips please?

I've been wanting a geared machine for ages, this one's at least 2hrs away but the timings perfect as my v secondhand ones really falling to bits

Actually, come to think of it, I don't recall ever splitting it.

Paid my £50 and the farmer dropped it into my trailer using his Telehandler.

Looks like there's a sleeve at the top of the pillar that stops the head from lifting off. The sleeve secured by a bolt & big washer/plate, if I remove bolt, washer & sleeve will the drill head lift off the pillar?
Sounds like a Haynes manual - "levitate the component while holding three other pieces dead still"

They are easy to remove. If it is an E100, it’s an older version of the one pictured above but the principle is the same.

You have to remove the handle that drives the head up and down on the rack, then it will slide up off the column. Have a look on YouTube, there’s bound to be someone overhauling one

I've lifted the head of a big drill before and they are heavy and awkward. That's a gear head drill so it will be even heavier.

Unless you are a bear it's a 2 person lift. Tip the drill over on its side, rest the column on something and slide it off. Spray some wd40 on the column to help you.

Not sure if it is a solid column on that drill, if it is that will be a heavy lift on its own - 6ft of 3" solid steel. Plus a heavy cast base attached.

When I've worked on them at home I use the engine crane to lift off the head.

My arboga column measures 100mm. Fortunately, it's not solid.
