Took the welder up to work today to start work on a project (pedal powered raft -but will go into that in the projects section later). Had a new reel of 0.8 wire to swap for the 0.6 on there. Anyway long story short, fitted the wire reel and hand fed it into the grooves and sleeve and then when I went to feed it through using the motor there was a big blue spark like flash from behind the motor area and then nothing. There was hardly any tension on the clutch at the time. When I turn it on the fan works, and the gas flows just no motor.
Ive just looked through the manual which says something about a 1.5A fuse. I can't find a fuse anywhere. Plus the flash was a lot bigger than than a tiny 1.5a fuse popping. The motor doesn't smell burnt out.
I have been using it a lot recently with no dramas. Only difference was today I transported it up to work in landrover.
Any ideas?? Oh yeah it is a Supermig 185 v2
Cheers Doug
