A tale of two alternators

After I bought my new old sprinter the battery kept discharging,eventually discovering it’s got two of them! One for powering the onboard electric supply,mentioned here by @m_c ,thanks,then the usual charging alternator,I had the AC one overhauled as the bearings were worn,allegedly supplying 110amp,and a new one from the same auto electrical engineers,having obtained a drive belt,I’m keen to try out the on board system.
Judging by the rusty pulley,the AC one has been idle awhile.

And fuel consumption,still,will be worth a try,I reckon as the access is good from underneath,I could slacken the belt a tad,or even fit the belt only when required.

Regarding fuel/power

Years ago I was into the car audio scene, a mega power car running thousands of watts with 4 alternators was put on the Dyno, with and without the system playing

Only lost about 9hp so I wouldn't worry
