A quick wire diameter question

Hi I have a Clarke 105 (up to 105 amps).

Should I be using .6mm or .8mm wire or doesn't it matter?

If it's relevant I am mostly welding mild steel between 1.5mm & 3mm in thickness although I might possible weld thinner steel.

0.6mm for the thinnest stuff & 0.8mm for the thicker stuff. I know it can be a hassle changing spools but it's surprising what a difference it can make using the correct diameter wire. (A general "all rounder" for 1.5 - 3mm would be 0.8mm but you will notice a marked difference using 0.6mm on anything thinner).

What would you suggest for welding 1.5mm steel to 3mm steel?

Just edited above post. Thought you meant from 1.5mm up to 3mm, if it's 1.5mm to 3mm you might be better with the 0.6mm.
