A quick hello before I annoy you all with daft questions...

Hi All,

Just thought I had better say a quick hello before asking stupid questions in the rest of the forum !

My name is Tim, and I spend much of my spare time (and most of my spare money) restoring basket-case Land Rovers.

I've been welding with an ARC welder since I was about 10 years old and in more recent years have started to use MIG a lot more.

Hoping to pick up some useful tips from the welding gurus on here

Hi Tim! and welcome!
I'm sure you'll find that mig will be a lot easier than arc welding! (uhm...well that's my opinion...)
So bring on the questions, i'm sure there'll be someone to help on this forum!
And again...there's no such thing as a stupid question....only stupid answers!

Thanks for the welcome... I get on OK with MIG, but it is only recently that I've discovered how much more sensitive it is to having really good quality kit. Arc seems to be a bit more forgiving !

Which part or Dorset are you from?
Im just over the border in South Somerset.

Hehe! well, not for me! I just can't get the hang of arc welding... guess i'm way too spoiled with Mig! (and having a good kit at work ofcourse!)
