Tenons need re cutting deeper as bt has a lead tenon for tool orientation
Never had a problem with bt40. Think you might be thinking of sk40 that is not deep enough. Learnt that the hard way with a tool-changer, it only goes in once automatically,it sure don’t come out automaticallyTenons need re cutting deeper as bt has a lead tenon for tool orientation
Technically those are different.Ebay tooling is good and cheap, so it varies between metric and whit. Beggars and choosers I guess?
I have my share of both, but mostly whit if I recal. Also have the joy of 30 int on the Town Woodhouse mill, the tooling for this also comes in both breeds. If I recall I changed that to metric and stuck a metric tap down all the tooling.
Changing the drawbars is not the end of the world, but you need steps to get up there.
That was the annoying thing about having two seemingly identical machines, but with different drawbars. Couldn’t change the drawbar to what I wanted as the angle milling head had the other thread! Also changing drawbars around isn't really viable if you have a power drawbar, so those adapters then become very handy
Technically those are different.
IIRC (and I'm just going off memory), 30/40 Int is whit, 30/40 ISO is metric and NMTB 30/40 is UNC, NT 30/40 is also
So the only diff between 30 INT and 30 NT is the thread? News to me, I’d never heard of NT...
Just think of European int with metric drawbar, English with whit and American with Unc . Sensible differences back then which are now annoying in modern timesSo the only diff between 30 INT and 30 NT is the thread? News to me, I’d never heard of NT...
