We trial built the transfer truss for White Hart Lane in the yard over 25 years ago, and the erectors were just running up and down the thing with no harnesses. Being next to Rolls Royce , their safety officer got involved and insisted they used harness and guard rails . One of those boys was in his 70's and had been doing it since he left school .

im old school but sometimes have to make sure no ones watching. hse or company bosses nothing wrong with a bit of climbing and working live . when I was a kid I helped them build up an arm on the new pylon just over the road from us then they winched it up in to position. great fun

Seen that here too. I think the power board have a twin squirrel in England for working on live lines. The amount of skill to fly those machines that close is phenomenal. There are quite a few videos on YouTube on line work.

noooo I lost out on a job once as they wanted the complete job doing in surface trunking even across the ceiling no chance I wouldn't do it I take pride in my work

I was bought up on rewiring council houses in mini trunking! Horrible stuff.
Mind you some of the residents weren't bothered about it but then some of them thought it was alright to live in a house covered in dog ****.
Those ones didn't get a rewire.
