A Knife Question

Anyone know what this type of knife is called?

Looks like a Parang? But a bit short

When you search Parang, there’s lots of different sizes. Could be one. It’s nice, lovely scales

It looks like it's been hand made, but very well hand made. So it may not be a specific type. I'd like to own it though.

Just looked that, it more akin to a machete.

Found the pic on the internet but no name. I fancy having a go at making one. 01 Tool steel, probably 4mm thick and stock removal method

If I can get the name maybe able to get a pattern or template

First thing i think of is a gurka kukri type knife however the bend may not be aggresive enough for that design.

I got a template, copied it onto the steel and promptly changed it about. My next ones will be a set of kitchen knives. My ,her, design!

To be fair that’s what I usually do with most things, but it’s always good to have a starting point

not unlike a skinning knife , shiki ,, but being hand made , draw round it and be happy with how ever it turns out , the beauty of custom / hand made , its never wrong.

It looks like a lot of knives, all probably based on a Parang. This is my Global Veg Knife
and a rough idea for another. Must have drawn that over 5yrs ago. Saw blade is 600mm Dia 5mm thick. Knife is 17" in total

I’m just gonna print, enlarge and copy to a template, as I really like the design

As for glocal, they are something else. I’ve got the set at home
