Hi all my names Rich, I'm 22 and from Chaddesden in Derby and i'm currently restoring my 1983 Austin Mini Mayfair.
As many will know, every Mini comes with plenty of rust thrown in for no extra charge, so i'm slowly teaching myself to weld using my Clarke MIG 90EN 'No-Gas' MIG Welder.
I know some people say gas-less MIG's are rubbish compared to gas but i'm willing to give it ago and having never used any welding plants before I really wouldn't know the difference in results anyway,
I'v had a few attempts at welding with my Clarke 90EN on practice sheets, which have slowly improved and I think i'v just about got the settings correct.
I really want to learn different types of welds as not all of the panels on my mini can be welded in the same way. Well I dont think they can anyway, lol.
Just looking for any usefull hints and tips, any books worth reading, ect and if there are any fellow Mini enthusiasts on the forum then advice of panel fitting would be excellent.
Many thanks,
- Rich
