I’ve finally been rebuilding the ‘Chinese’ 9x20 lathe I bought from a forum member a couple of years ago. Thing is, I really need a new tension belt for it, and although I did a bit of googling last night, so have a few places to check out, does anyone here have any suggestions.
The tension belt is a thin, round belt, like a mini Singer treadle belt. Sorry, but I can do photos and measurements later today. Could a polytube (?) belt be cheaper/better, as I believe you can purchase a low stretch tube. Also, would a continuous, pre made belt be best, or either diy ’heat ends and melt/glue together’ or metal clip fittings (again think Singer belt), or use those little metal connectors (think emergency universal fan belt) be best.
Anyone have any thoughts?
