Meh...Best call out, recently.
8.5 hour round trip.
On the demand of a customer.
To turn a key from ON to Off.
Got home on the Friday morning, got the day off, paid. Double bubble on the call out.
Customer paid £2 a mile, one hour out of hours certificate fee. Plus a listing on the portal that she is not to be trusted with a fire alarm.
It was 200 miles each way.
Or get home, stand in the kitchen and put the cooker hood on "Yeah, in the car, just on my way back"...We used to get paid 4 hours for a call out, but you had to be on site for a minimum of an hour to qualify so it was usually sort problem in 10 mins then sit drinking coffee/surfing t'internet for 50 mins then go home![]()
Unfortunately we used a clocking system so payroll would log your time on site.Or get home, stand in the kitchen and put the cooker hood on "Yeah, in the car, just on my way back"...
Ah, BT brought one of those in - that's when I took the very generous redundancy package...Unfortunately we used a clocking system so payroll would log your time on site.
