two things from watching the vid.....
1/ wish my knees would bend that far.......
2/ can now bin my French chalk......
when needs must these guy's sure know how to get around stuff......watched a lot of workings in S. Africa.....gotta say enlightening......

French chalk isnt much use on smooth steel like box!

Distance from the top of the curve to the straight cut will be the same as the length of the quadrant.

I do it like this, sometimes - as I'm not too well-equipped, workshop-wise.
If you're using 1" square tube, the 2 parralel lines are 1" apart - i.e. - Half the size of the square section you're using.
The curved line should be a 2" radius - i.e. - Twice the size of the section dimensions that you're using.
I don't generally do any marking-up with a slitting disc!
I get the feeling that may not make sense, but I can't draw at all really - so wish I could, sometimes!
If needs be though, I'll draw it on an A4 sheet, take a photo, and post it up - but most of you would end up in stitches - especially you CAD users, out there!
