6" wood cutting blade on 5" GRINDER

Knew a plumber who used a 4" angle grinder with a 6" wood blade and no guard, along the floor joints to cut the toungues off to make access holes...scariest thing I ever saw and he's still walking around without a limp and all his fingers 30 yrs later....makes my toes curl to think about if it had broken loose and chased him round the room.

Can't understand why he did that....a wide blade chisel and hammer is all thats needed to split the T&G

I've seen a few references to people using 12" wood cutting circular saw blades on petrol powered disc cutters...

Can anyone enlighten me as to why that practice is different to using a wood cutting blade on an angle grinder?

I knew a bloke who did the same sort of thing with a grinder and saw blade to chop out some floor boards, it kicked back and tore into his thigh, luckily for him it missed the major blood vessels. He's still around but limps a bit. I bought a saw blade designed to fit an angle grinder, but I have never used it, its still in the packet that it came in. I had visions of doing the same thing so I've chickened out on using it.

using a wood blade on a stihlsaw is still a bad idea cutting wood . it will dig in and kick back

ooh i like that chain saw blade iv got a 12 tooth and a 22 tooth 4.5" blade that i use but a 9" i wonder how much more it would take of working on a side cut. I'm using this on an automated jig i'm not daft enough to be doing this hand held.
Been using this re shaped milling cutter at the mo

Not that I think for a second it would work any better than my tct scrub blade, but LOOK AAT IT!!!

It says chain repair kits available, I don't think you'd be needing one if the chain lets go at the rated 10,000 rpm

A professional landscape guy I know has a stihl or husqvarna chainsaw blade disc for his brushcutter, it is a ce certified item... Chinese copy might be iffy quality...
