That's very kind, no probs.

We are now getting a new shaft made in fancy F51 Duplex, which is £800 all told
It's available in humungous sizes, up to 450mil round bar!!
(Clements Eng. of Bedfordshire.)
And it's meant to be more resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion than standard 316.
The old one was bright, or whatever they had 60 yrs ago. I'm sure I will find a use for it, but prop shafts are not usually special, 316 is typical.Parker's do do it in 3.6m lengths.
Last one I had was actually over 4m long.
Ring the local depot and ask somebody nicely if they will wander out with a tape measure to check what's in stock.
O/T but is bright any good for prop shafts?
A mate of mine makes hammers and tools out of old boat prop shafts. Advertises the fact like it's something special..
