Hello everyone!
I own a classic mini as a weekend car, and have decided to purchase a second hand welder in order to make a few little repairs to assist through the next MOT.
I decided upon a Clarke 135TE to learn and play with on some of the old panels I have cut out (thought it good to practice on old panels of the same thickness metal I will be repairing eventually).
I rent a garage with no power source. Luckily, I did some favours and became friends with the gentleman who lives above it, and he has offered me the use of his plug sockets if I wish to use my extension lead for tools.
I've used grinders and air compressors on it without fuss.
However, I would like to use my welder for short periods on approx 1.2mm sheet steel using the following extension lead:
Masterplug 240v (4 gauge) 45m

I know they say you should keep leads as short as possible, but this is quite a robust lead and I will be unreeling it fully. It will run relatively straight, with one 90-degree turn at the bottom, feeding into my garage door opening for around 15m.
Will this cause me any major problems, running from a standard 13a plug? I won't be welding huge box sections for hours. Just a few floor panel beads and the odd tack.
There is no other power source option for me.
Any advice is hugely appreciated. Thankyou!
