4" OD 1.5/2mm wall Stainless tube

Sorry for mixing imperial and metric, anyone know where I can get this material in the South East? Had a look on google and spoke to my normal suppliers, but can only seem to find it with 10swg or 3mm wall. Needs to be 1.5/2mm wall because it's for an exhaust (probably only need about 3meters, but willing to buy a length), Might also need some elbows, so would be handy if they could supply them too.

Any ideas?

A 3.5" nominal bore schedule 5 tube has an O/D off 101.6 and a wall thickness of 2.11mm, so is probably spot on for you, you can also buy bends, tee's etc to suit. I would have thought that most stainless stockholders should be able to source it, or search for a local pipeline supplier.

As Paul i would have thought most stockholders should be able to source it, pretty sure Aalco offer 4" hygienic tube in both 16 and 14swg but maybe not through all their branches

Expensive way to buy but if you don't need/want a full length Allstainless sell in 3 metre lengths and are listing 4" 16swg... http://www.allstainlessltd.co.uk/products.asp?category=3&subcategory=2&productimage=draw_ss_tube_pol.jpg&productpic=phot_nb_pipe.gif. Bends are more reasonably priced

Unless weight is a key consideration i'd go thicker than 16swg personally, 14swg or Pauls 3.5" sch5 suggestion will sound less like a fart cannon

Aalco (in Aylesbury) were the first place I tried as they normally do me good prices, but they only had 10swg. Tried various other places (including the given links), but it's always a bit of a nightmare buying SS as I normally want a bit of a mixed bag of stock, with some places being cheaper for one thing but more expensive for others.

Went for 4" OD 14swg in the end.

Whats the exhaust for? If its a road car, its going to be awfully noisy if you are using stainless tube that big, and also very difficult to fit to the car reasonably well due to the dia.

No, not for a car, it's for a 2001 volvo FL6 Lorry. The factory one that was on there was a bit of a mish mash of mild steel and stainless, and the steel bit's totally rotten. I only noticed because it started blowing, and didn't realise how bad it was, as it was wrapped with that heatproof fabric, which I think was about the only thing holding it together
