3D printed item size limit

I was wondering about making some clip in covers to replace/seal up the UPVC window trickle vents that have fallen off around the house. The old cowlings were 400mm long and I was wondering if that length could be accommodated on the popular 3D printers that a lot of people seem to have?

Around 250mm is the standard build plate size, nowadays.

You'll probably find a printer that will do that size for sensible money.

Or, printing with dovetails or jigsaw type tabs works fairly well.
Or there are plenty of other ways to join smaller pieces together.

I have a big one. Maximum size I can print is a 350mm cube.

It depends on the length/width of the component itself. 250mm or 350mm may be the maximum length/width of the build plate, but if the part can be printed diagonally across opposite corners of the plate, then obviously longer items can be printed.

Where's Pythagoras when you need him? 495mm if my maths are correct, for a pencil line width.

They are pennies on line for screw on ones so likely a better value rather than lashing ut on a bigger printer and relearnig so many things to get going again.
