3D glasses

ive had a 3D projector since 2013 and only used the 3D function a couple of times at first (you know what it’s like with gimmicks)
At the time I bought 4 pairs of active 3D glasses from amazon (Chinese no make)
Other day I picked up a 3D copy of avatar in a charity shop while waiting for wife

Now can’t get glasses to charge
Are these duff now because the batteries haven’t been charged for so long? Do you think they are fixable? I’m guessing they would be like cheap welding masks

Any suggestions welcome

The ones that came with our tv are active and take a cr2012 battery, if they haven't been charged for ages then the battery is probably fubar.
Have a look see if you can find a battery cover in them or if there is a likely place for a battery that you can get to.

No obvious battery cover or even way of getting into where battery might be

How long have you left it charging for ? I had a cheap camera that would not charge with no way into the battery ..thought it was goosed ..by mistake I left it charging for a few days and ...it worked for a bit but never held a charge for more than an hour or two ...

Only about an hour
The vague instructions say red light on when charging. 1 pair had red light on for a while now all 4 pairs just flash red occasionally
Personally I think they are knackered but thought I’d just put it out see who had any ideas

These are probably fitted with lithium polymer rechargeable cells ("non-replaceable") and after prolonged lack of use will likely have dropped to a voltage below which fast charging is detrimental. It sounds like the charge circuitry is trying to recover the cells by trickle charging. Leave them on charge (supervised) for a good few hours and see what happens.

Alternatively they could be fubarred.

easy enough to order replacement batteries to solder in?

<edit> 18287-2000 are common enough on the bay for about 11 or 12 quid apiece. they are not solder tabbed, though.

That cell looks like it might have a protection board attached.

If you have a DMM try measuring the voltage on the red/black wires.

Ok as the glasses only cost £15 it’s hardly worth the bother to rip them apart so think I’ll just replace them
