316 grade stainless thick wall tube.

Hello all,

I am looking for a supplier of 4mm bore by 2.5 wall 316 stainless tube
I have been on Google as my local stockist does not keep such a size, but with no luck.

The components I want to make are 140mm long, 4mm bore full length, and my attempts to drill with an extra long drill is not looking promising. It looks as if a gun drill set up is the answer if I can't find a source of suitable tube?

Have you tried Nero in Oldbury? We had some stainless from them at work but in larger sizes than you require. They may be able to help.

Have you tried hydraulic component stockists ? Years ago we used to plumb in grease lines to bearings using stainless steel tube, I think we got it off a hydraulic stockists.

I assume this is for a hydraulic line or similar. So do as above or contact those that do. Generally speaking stainless is sold through different supply lines to mild and regular engineering steels, it can be a pain to get what you want (even common stuff) if your not already hooked up with a specialist supplier.
