3 phase motor & reduction gearbox

Bearing in mind the fact that I haven't got access to 3 phase, is it worthwhile hanging onto this in the hope that I may one day find a use for it?

The part on the front is a reduction gearbox. I think it's a 5.5:1 ratio box. I've held onto it so far because:

1) It's old, and I like old kit.

2) I keep thinking I might find a use for it one day, (damned if I have any idea what though).

It's a Varatio Strateline gearbox.

Hoarders law applies, if you throw it you will find a use for it within 12 months, if you hang on to it you will never find a use for it !

It's never simple, is it. I did originally contemplate using it for a rotary convertor setup, but the gearbox likely wouldn't help in that scenario, and it also seems a shame to split the unit.

It'd make a good power unit for a wire stripper - if you had 3 phase!
