just compareing cost etc between a 3phase rotary inverter 11kw x £2,500 or 7kw at £1,500 ish.....plus taxes n delivery from Ireland....
or a used Diesel powered genny......guessing it'll run for prob less than 10 hours p/week..every other week.....it's just a hobby shop.....
advice,
the biggest 3 phase motor is 5HP....most of the time I'll b useing single phase but for the bigger machines I'll need 3ph.....
what size genny with a good saftey margin....?
to upgrade the house supply, 5 years ago was 12,000euros....thats for the new meter and 10m of cable from the pole and thats with 3phase up there.....so thats a non starter.....
this year or next, the plan is to install 7kw solar panels and go semi off grid until we can afford to up the panels and get enough batteries....
so look....
I'm a very active 76 year old and/but who knows how long I have left......
to get a rotary inverter is as above £2,500 plus I believe I'll need some big solar gear / inverter etc to go from solar to 3 phase.....
so with all the above /cost's info seriously looking at a simple genny.....
plus when I'm gone she can sell it on with all the tools easily.....
Lastly
what is the kinda age where the genny's went to electronic control as I want something repairable.....prefer non electronic.....
Not like my Honda genny thats electronic and beyond eco repairs....
many thanks
