3/8 coppernickel or steel tube needed

I need aprox 500mm of 3/8 od tube to replace an oil cooler pipe. The original is steel but I think I could get away with copper nickel instead if I can't source steel.

I cant find any steel tube to the spec anywhere, anyone any ideas? Best I can find is 25ft rolls of copper nickel but loathed to spend £50plus on a roll I'll never use again.

Can you get an offcut from a plumber and turn an end down and solder it on.

As mee said, 10mm copper micro-bore used in plumbing. 3/8 is common on plant so try a agricultural repair place, lorry mehanic/repairers, or hydraulic hose supplier.

3/8" pipe is used for gas fire connections. I bought some a few weeks ago, beauty is its not coiled, lovely and straight.

My local parts supplier can get 3/8/10mm cooper nickel pipe in. Used it for a fuel line on a old project.

Thanks for all advice. It needs to be 3/8 not 10mm as i want to solder on the brass ends off the original pipe which was 3/8.
