Here’s where I’m at at the moment. When you start zooming you can see a dryer area and the orange peel, but it’s a lot better than a couple of days ago

Really need a closer shot to show the orange peel clearly, but you may be able to wet sand, cut and buff it out without respraying.

AC or OC?

I use AC on pretty much everything direct gloss.

Mixed to 20% thinners with MS25 hardner

1.3mm tip
Full fan
Full flow

I feel its a little dry still on the 2nd and 3rd coat almost as if the thinners or hardener is going off in the cup.

I'll try slow hardener next and if not I might step up to 1.4mm soon to try that.

How much thinners do you like for OC? Having trouble getting it to lay flat with 5% but anymore and it wants to run. Even better if you know the time it takes for your AC to run through a din 4 cup. TDS says 20-22 seconds for both AC and OC but I expect yours will be quicker.

So on OC I'm running

2.5 turns out from closed on fluid
2.5 turns out from closed on fan
(Don't want full full fan and fluid as doing passenger compartment and boot of car and want to keep overspray down due to insufficient exhaust)

How come you stepped down from the 20% in the previous post? Was it too runny

Basically, yes, but if its hot I would still use up to 20%.

I no longer have a set method but adapt to the conditions

I so often read about people's issues with paint finish and their selection of needle, fluid tip, cap thinner content etc. The most important thing in my mind is the gun set up at spray out stage. Get that right and you're almost there.

I'm using mipa multi mat in mine and I'm unsure if the graininess is coming from that
Can see it on the side of the mixing cup. That's where I've poured it, so not sprayed. Weird

Not sure how. It's MIPA OC mixed with Mipa Multi mat as per this TDS. Only thing is I'm using MS hardener. But I phoned MIPA technical and they said this was fine
