230v Motor fan speed control

Got a fan speed controller for a forge fan but it has given up the ghost.
Unfortunately the motor on the fan doesn't have any data so can't say how many watts it is. It's 230v single phase.

Anyone know where I can get a decent quality one of these. eBay is a bit vague and it seems there are pwm, frequency and voltage methods of controlling fan speed.

Not sure on your fan but have used the Machine Mart fan speed controllers to balance fans for positive and negative extraction set ups. They appear reliable.

The failed component will be, 99%, the device with three legs that your thumb is pointing at. If that's replaced it should work again. Let's see a close-up to determine what it is.

As an alternative what about a choke that alters the air getting there not the available air. Low tech solution option. I like low tech!

Has this motor controller worked OK with the fan before, and for a decent length of time?

If so, it should be possible to replace the triac, as Seadog suggests.
