2017 Movano radio loom adapter

Just wondered if any of the mechanics on here may know of a radio loom adapter to fit these?



Any type listed which I can find all seem to have only one of those slimline plugs. This, for example.

Radio has gone tits up in the work van, so it's just so that I can whack a bog standard unit in there, for the time being.

You need an iso adaptor for the van. There is a company that specialises in them but I can't remember the name but you get them in Halfords. Their leads are not cheap but they work.

The missing plug could be for phone/bluetooth kit or steering controls specific to your van.

An alternative temporary fix would be a streaming internet radio app on your phone and a Bluetooth speaker. There has been a cd stuck in my van head unit for months and I mostly listen to internet radio now.

There is the possibility that there might not be an ignition feed to the OE radio, so you may have to add one for an aftermarket radio.

That's a Fiat thing. I don't think Renault do the same.

It's used by Fiat to indicate that there is a network configuration issue, such as a missing module.

Both are on the cam bus I believe.

The head units on modern vehicles are so integrated that removing them affects a lot of other things.

I was going to replace the one in my van but I would lose the centre display on top of the dashboard that has a lot of other functions like trip computer, etc.

There is a space below the head unit that is there to accommodate the double din display fitted to posh models with a satnav screen. Fitting a 2nd head unit is on my list of upgrades.

2017 is still the Renault era, and I never had much dealings with them.

I can never remember which year the Movano moved from being a rebadged Master, to a rebadged PSA/Fiat hybrid (which are now all Stellantis anyway)

I only watched the start of the video, but I can see there being a cull of brands over the next few years.
They can't justify Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and Fiat selling essentially identical ranges of vehicles with just different badges, let alone the myriad of other smaller brands they own.

I'm surprised they've not already done it, given I done the K0 van/chassis training 4 years ago, and there was a 20min session on branding then. Even the tutors eyes started rolling as he had to explain that different brands have different badges
Given that larger fleet sales seem to all be Peugeot branded, I'm guessing Fiat/Citreon/Vauxhall will be the van brands to disappear.

Once you go above buying a certain number of vans (or are an organisation the manufacturer deems as desirable to have as a customer), then you typically deal directly with the manufacturer.
If you were to walk into your local dealer and tell them you want to buy a hundred vans, they'll likely direct you to a regional sales manager who works for the manufacturer, at which point a lot of new options appear.

I was visiting Ford Halewood in the 80's to do some work on their robots and one of the perimeter car parks was full of identical Escort vans, I was talking to the engineer about them saying that looks like a nice order, he said it would have been if someone hadn't got the paperwork wrong and they had the wrong engines fitted don't know if they swapped the engines or just built another batch to the correct spec.
