2015 Peugeot partner fault code P0480

Anyone have experience dealing with this . Does the cooling fan have one or two relays for the high and low speed , if so where are they located . I know where the one on the control module on the fan is .

They're combined with the low speed resistor which is mounted at the front top of the radiator cowling/fan housing.
You either need to unbolt the top of the bumper/grill, pull it forward and scrape your arm to get it out, or do the same from the underside (or remove the complete bumper).

It's usually the resistor assembly that corrodes and fails, but the wiring can corrode between the resistor/fan and the wing, and occasionally the fan itself fails.

Resistor has be replaced , we found a broken wire along the front of the van ,. The fan comes on once van has reached temperature, but it stills shows open circuit fault and the engine stays in limp mode and won't rev higher than 3k . We have 3 peugeot partner vans all with the same fault

I might still have a wiring diagram, but that sounds like there is still an issue with the low speed trigger wire.
I'll have a look in my toolbox shortly.

1522 is the resistor/relay module.
Something to be aware off, is there are different resistance values for the resistor depending on the fan setup, and although some are physically interchangeable, they'll trigger a fault if the wrong one is fitted.

I've conveniently previously scribbled on what each of the control wires do.
1 - High speed (switches to gnd to activate high)
2 - Low Speed (again switches to gnd)
3 - 12V feed from F21 to power the relays
4 - Feedback to ECM from fan voltage

IIRC correctly, with the resistor unplugged and the ignition on, you should get around 1V (it might be a bit higher, as it's been a while since I done one) on the high and low speed pins in the connector.

The big two pin connector should have 12V, and if you bridge it, should bring the fan on full speed.

Thanks for that ,do you know what colour the trigger wire is and where is it situated . The broken wire across the front was a small green wire .

I can't remember what colour it typically is, as Peugeot primarily use numbered wires. The 1550P etc are written on the wires every couple inches.

I'd usually start by removing the cover from the resistor connector, and then looking see what colour wire I'm looking for.

Also check that the fans have not seized up. I had a 306 where 1 fan had seized and it didn't do the relays or resistors much good. Got a whole radiator surround from a breakers with working fans and relays and swapped them over.
