I would just like to hear people opinions on this one.
It is cranking no start on first attempt, then starts on second attempt.
If run for 10 min, leave for 30 it will then start on first attempt. If left for a a 1-2hr it fails to start on the first crank again.
I did a quick code read this morning before work as I suspected potential cam / crank sensor issues but I would not expect it to start on second crank if this was the issue.
The are no pending codes that I have seen on my basic diagnostic scanner.
I replaced 3 of the 4 glow plugs 2 months ago. I don't think its glow plugs as its been happening over the weekend with temps > 10 deg c and faulty glow plugs throws an error.
Doing some reading, thinking and AI prompting (dangerous I know) I am thinking a next step is leak back test? Is there anything else you guys would suggest before I order a test kit?
I am more or less due to change fuel filter but only on my own schedule of 10k mile or annual not manufacturer recommendation. I am on less than 10k since last filter change but will try and pop out and do that tonight as its a 10 min job and due on my schedule. .
