Check your fuel line maybe its soft and might be sucking shut...Bob
Can the timing be out on a 2 stroke?
before i so your post i did put abit of fuel down the spark plug hole and replaced the spark plug i then pulled the cord yet still and nothing but when i removed the plug again and brought the piston back up a very small about of grey smoke came out and the piston head was dry again so it must be buring it off but still not enought to fire it up![]()
unfortunatley those McCullouch's are known as disposible as the cost of the parts are rediculas and quite often just as cheap to buy another one
but i now definitely know the engine had been run on straight petrol
hey guys thanks again for all your help i still havent got round to getting any pictures but i now definitely know the engine had been run on straight petrol as the bloke said he put the 2 stroke mix in the 4 stroke genney and clogged his plug up and the straight mix in the 2 stroke strimmer he run it for a while then it just cut out which would explain the stiffness when trying to pull but now i have the pull start free and the engine turning over what could be damged to cause it not to start i know its only a cheap jobby but i am determined to get it working
but i have so on plenty of videos were there saying if this happens even if it was something like a stihl i would still not be worth trying to fix cheers
