Dragged my tig out of the corner, not used it in a while, infact only used it once since moving here over 3 years ago. Sat at the bench to sort out my new torch, i purchased, fitted the plug, bloody fiddly, really should go get new glasses.
Sets it up for a test, would not arc more than 5 amps. Head scratch. Tried other torch, it works a treat, must be the new lead . Opens plug up, all looks good, remake soldered joints. Tried it again. Still the same.
Take switch end apart, resolders joints, checked continuity of cables. Tries again. Still the same. More head scratching, looked at instruction book. Put old torch back on, works fine.
After 2 hours of dicking about......did the job with the old torch.
Tried new one again. Realised, the old torch has a amps wheel on it. Pressed the remote to no remote button, and guess what it works a treat.
2 hours of my life i wont get back, ok own up, who else will admit to being a muppet!
