Hi all,
I have been on this site for about a year now and look at it most weekends and am in awe of some of the work that is done by members.
I thought it was time I stopped asking silly questions and posted something.
My metal/wood/plants/general area to get out the house is pictured below.
I would draw your attention to the vice and in particular to the jaw protectors.
I’ve just made them from some scrap stainless with the sides welded using stainless. I’ve never welded with it before and am quite pleased with them.
I am aware that the craftsmen here will be smiling, but some people live with micrometers and scribers, I am more an angle iron and pencil/chalk/crayon type.
I got the Record 23 as a none moving wreck and having spent a few days on it, got it working and painted, so it seemed a shame that I was slowly wrecking it again with my wire wheel.
I have also made about 10 plant supports using horseshoes and rebar, which requires lots of work with a wire wheel and grinder.
I was just thinking that the proper craftsmen on here at some point in the past, must have had their 1st project that they thought ‘that’s not rubbish’, even if now they think it probably was.
Do you ever lose that feeling, when something you do gives you a sense of satisfaction or does the bar just get higher?
