Hi All
About to start my 1st project - security bars for my garage/workshop so that i still have my equipment to start 2nd project.
I live in a bungalow in a small cul de sac with neighbours being mainly semi retired / elderly so security doesnt need to be heavy duty - just enough to stop entry if someone tries (garage is also alarmed).
2 x double glazed windows 6ft wide by 3ft high seperated by a pillar. I propose to use 5mm (flat) vertical at the sides to secure bars to window aperture and then 16mm (bar) horizontals (stop sagging) seperated with 12mm (bar) horizontals - havent decided on on gaps between the horizontals just yet
I have a 160 amp mig welder which is probably good for about 6mm thickness steel so what is the best way to tackle welding the 16mm and 12mm to the 5mm side verticals.
Answer maybe obvious but as its my first serious go at a project i want to get it right
Thanks In Advance
Mark
