My in laws bought Italjet 50cc quad new for my mrs and her siblings in 1990 when they were kids, and sometime during that decade the coil went bad, and they stopped using it. Fast forward to present day, my eldest is now 5 years old and wants a go, so ive promised him ill try getting it running. On inspection, indeed the HT lead appears a little deformed and the wiring has rotten off, so easiest way to go, as I see things, is to buy a new coil.
The coil has 'IDM Italy mod 150' embossed on it so off I go searching this online and yealding some results which is promising. HOWEVER, on comparing my part to the ebay photos, my quad needs a long HT lead wheras the one that comes with the new coil is a good few inches shorter. There is also no boot supplied. My questions...
1. Can you extend HT leads like this (its attached to the coil and wont come off)
2. Presumably i can buy a boot, but how do they attach?
