I have wanted one since I was 14, so finally I am Velo owner.
The original owner Jim McKillop bought the bike in 1962 when he was an apprentice:
Jim ran the bike to commute when he was an apprentice at Yarrow Shipbuilders and improved it over the years. He is a big Velo enthusiast, rebuilt many and also raced and scrutineered. He won a Hillclimb up the Rest and be Thankful on one of his Velo's.
I had a good test run and was impressed by how it went.
The bike has too many mods to list: engine has a new barrel with Omega piston, a modifies Viper squish head, later Concentric carb, rebuilt magneto with platinum points and manual and auto advance, LED bulbs, 12v conversion, roll on centre stand, Akront larger rims and new tyres, later kickstart, lost of stainless parts and lots more.
Came with original head, carb with refurb kit, a new mag and lots of other parts:
period panniers
lots of original literature
There are still area's I can improve, though I am delighted with it.
