A guy brought me this part with a big hole in the pan where something went into it. No problem to weld just layed it on a chunk of steel flat bar and welded over it with my spoolgun and 4043 wire. It held water so i would say its good to go...Bob
Hmm, did an 20hp twin with a hole in the side from a broken rod. Tried 4043 but could not get it to feed properly (12' torch). So went with 5356 but it cracked.
Ended up using brazing rods.
Looks good. I will probably have another twin to do this week. They are bitch to do as the cracks are oil contaminated. Will do TIG this time as i now have big enough filler.
