160TM no wire feed - just stopped!

I have no wire feed on my 160.

It just stopped working when I was using it. Would it be the motor or something else?

I read an old post about running 12v across the motor to check that, what else could I check?

I put a multimeter across the motor and got nothing with the trigger pressed.

It's not just overheated has it?
If the thermal cutout has tripped, the cooling fan will run but the machine will appear dead until it's cooled sufficiently.

Not overheated, only did a few tacks.

Used it the other day fine

You have checked plug fuse?
I once spent ten minutes poking about inside my 151 when it stopped suddenly, until the penny dropped

Yes. The machine has power just no wire feed

Do you have the wiring diagram? Try and check it out with that.

It looks like it - the wire motor - runs off the secondary of a small transformer of its own; this transformer may have gone, or perhaps the return diode in the circuit has gone open.

The motor has gone.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Clarke themselves don't have any and won't get some for six weeks!

It's a smaller motor than the 160 apparently
