160l water tank

Was asked to make a 160l water tank from aluminium roughly 1200x250x550 i have some 2mm sheet ill be fitting baffles, would 2mm be enough

You might need to add 'l', 'w' and 'h' to those dimensions to receive a better answer: the bottom of a 1200mm high tank is subject to roughly five times the pressure seen by a 250mm high tank.

One of them... if you can squeeze in an off the shelf one, you'd save yourself a few quid.
150l MDPE tanks are only about £100.


Most of the stuff I do is between upwards of 1500l, and round/conical...
Usually 3mm stainless for most.


For a square cornered ally tank, I'd be looking at 3mm thick.

It's how he wants it, I know the plastic ones are much cheaper, I've made quite a few things for him 3mm sounds about right, I done a bit more research after I asked the question
