almost 2 years ago brought my mig from Steve at a good price. cracking welder, been very happy with it. But it began to develop a fault, one of those occasional problems that are hard to diagnose. i got few friends to look at it an change liner etc. when they looked, the mig ran fine.
Of course, every time i'd get into a job the fault would decide to rear its head. the welder would just stop working, you pull the trigger, it would make all the right clicking noises, i could hear the gas but no wire would come out.
Anyway, the guarantee is now well out so we decided to open her up an have a look. we discovered the fault very easily, 2 of the wire connections were incredible loose, and you could actually see sparks flying around. needed to tighten 2 nuts with a spanner and it runs like new.
In no way is this a dig at weldequip, nice guy, nice products and nice prices, but i ws ****** at Clarkes shoddy workmanship. Spent a lot of money and expected better.
Thanks to my Dad Andy who found the problem and made my day, cheers Dad
