135TE not working but brand new.. ideas?

I have just unpacked my brand new Clarke 135TE and assembled it. Everything is working fine, transformer humming, gas hissing, wire feeding... but no spark!!

The on-off power switch is not illuminated (not sure if it is supposed to be).

It will not even spark on the earth clamp.

Am I being dim or have I been sold a broken machine?

I think the lamp on the switch only illuminates when then cut-out operates.

Jiggle the power selector switches a few times.

Is it the EN version, if so have you connected the torch & earth connections, inside under the wirefeed mechanism?

The on-off power switch is not illuminated...yep, that's the same on mine and as mentioned above, it only illuminates when the cut out kicks in.

Sound like you migt have to go back to Machine mart today.

I'd double check everything though. It could be a bit embarrassing if its a simple thing that is stopping it working.
