I have used the search tool - honest but I can't find the simple answers I'm looking for.
My latest project has highlighted how pathetic my current drill selection is. I'm going to get some decent ones - probabaly Dormer. Either the A002 or A777 range.
I must admit I'm still trying to get my head around the various angles and options with drill points but I assume the 135 deg split points will:
Require less pressure and therefore be less likely to break.
Cut more slowly and therefore be more controllable / accurate in sheet when using a hand drill (guessing here)
Be able to cut harder materials than with a 118 deg point.
So is the only advantage of the 118 deg point faster cutting in soft materials ?
For a 6.0mm drill I'm looking at £4 (A777) vs £1.35 (A002).
If the A777 last 4 times as long and can also be used for harder materials then they have got to be worth it.
Can someone with some first hand experience point (sorry) me in the right direction please ?
Many thanks
Paul
