130EN noise?

Hi, I am new to the forum, I bought a new Clarke 130EN a month ago, I used approx 2 lbs of flux core and then it suddenly developed a loud buzz, the noise increases with higher settings, it is there regardless of whether I am welding or not. Phoned Clarke US, he said it was just transformer breaking in, don't worry about it. The machine was dead quiet and then suddenly the noise. Any thoughts from more experienced out there ?

something inside vibrated loose?

A bit of resonance and it'll make a heck of a noise...

erm, disclaimer...if you're going to poke around inside make sure the power lead is unplugged and dont touch the terminals of any capacitors!

Basically get hold of each component in turn and see if it's loose.

Thank you for the reply, I will check further for something loose, I know about caps from a previous experience, they tend to bite.
