So i fired up my mig welder today to find it buzzing from the rear transformer. I tried tapping it with a wooden dowel but doesn't do anything. Also the buzz sound changes by changing the voltage settings. It still produces a nice arc, but the buzzing sound just kills me.

sounds like a loose lamination in the transformer. Transformer cores are made of loads of thin plates and if the resin bonding them together cracks then they can resonate. You may be able to put some form of non conductive resin on it to stop it but I wouldn't know what to use
