I'm in the market for a new 12v inverter to replace the cheapanese Onever 2,000 Watt modified sinewave inverter I'm currently running. It still works but it's a) noisy, b) modified sine, and c) only puts out 2,000 chinese Watts, which works out to around 700 of James Watt's Watts.
There are thousands of fleebay listings for 12v inverters but most seem to come from china and employ considerable poetic license in their descriptions and technical specifications. I, sadly, don't have the kind of funds available to splash out on something like Victron, so was wondering if anyone has found a brand that does perform as specified but doesn't require a mortgage secured on a kidney to purchase.
I have two 130Ah AGM batteries in parallel charged by a Victron Bluesolar MPPT 100/50 (I was given for doing a solar install for a friend). I'd love to be able to weld on it up to about 70A, ideally, but even to be able to run 4 1/2" angle grinder and die grinder would be handy. Oh, a washing machine is the other thing I'd love to be able to power from the (free) solar rather than burn hours of petrol in the genny.
A remote on/off and/or something with a low enough standby current and quiet enough fan to be left on permanently would also be good.
My eyes glaze over after a short time scanning the fleebay listings and most of the descriptions are inadequate, inaccurate and infuriating, so I'd be pathetically grateful if someone can spare me from more of that.
