Hi all, does anyone know where I can lay my hands on aprox 2ft of 1/4-16 acme thread leadscrew this side of the pond? it has to be this or I'll end up having to make the mating funny shaped nut its going into and having to recalibrate in firmware for a different pitch if I go metric and I'm trying to keep it simple.
I'm stretching my 3d printer's z axis to get myself more build height (done the X already), which being a american printrbot is this awkward to find thread on the Z, the linear rods I have, and I'm going to add a support structure and bearing for the end of the leadscrew to keep it a bit more rigid as it gets higher. The factory do a official z axis stretch kit but its 100 quid by the time it gets here for two longer rails pressed into a aluminium keeper block and a longer leadscrew...
