05 Toyota Hi Ace timing belt light reset?

Wonder if anyone knows how to reset timing belt warning light on a 2005 280GS Hi Ace? Impossible to find any accurate info covering this on the net, and would be good to get light reset. Many thanks for any help with this...................

It should be OBDII, a cheap fault scanner from evilbay should be able to sort it.

I have a good OBD scanner...............could you please outline how you reset your belt warning light with one?

Not specifically no. On mine I just call up all error codes found and reset them, sorry if that's no help.

I think it might be something stupid like moving a screw on the back of the dash clocks from like a to b, will have to check and get back to you, it's the same setup on the mk5 hilux

as far as I remember it is reset using a butten something like ODO hold it in switch ignition on 5 seconds hold in again for 5 seconds the warning symbol changes display changes and eventually resets. I would need to look it up to confirm sequence and how many times you press, there was also a reset hole in the dash I think, and also a reset option on the back of the dash, and even an option to reset the milage warning changing it up over I think, bad news I do not think ODB gave an option for a reset though, Yonks since a firm I worked for had two.-- and I was in the wood working shop!!!

2007 Toyota Hilux Timing Belt Light Reset 3.0L 1KD Diesel Engine The timing belt light displayed on the dash on a 2007 Toyota Hilux diesel is reset using the following manual procedure. Turn ignition on. Make sure the Odometer/Trip meter display shows odometer information. Turn ignition switch off. Press and hold the odometer/trip display button whilst turning ignition on. Hold button down for 5 seconds then release button. Within 5 seconds, press and release the button. The display will show the reset value. Press and hold the odometer/trip button for 5 seconds then release button. Make sure the odometer reading is displayed and the warning lamp has gone out

Why do these things have to be so complicated? My Toyota land cruiser was a doddle. Tiny hole in the plastic speedo cover, just push a thin non metallic rod through the hole and press an almost invisible reset button on the speedo face, job done,

The dealers wouldn't be able to justify their extortionate charges if it was that simple.
