0.7kg spool on a 160t?

Due to being very poor, I cant afford a 15kg spool of stainless wire.
5kg seems to be impossible to get hold of for some reason, so I am stuck with 0.7kg spools. Problem is, the 160t doesn't take the small spools, the minimum is the 5kg spool.
Is there a cheap adapter that will allow the small spools to be used?
I have found an expensive adapter (£25+) but that is ridiculously over priced for what it is.

Can't you take the reel centre out and just mount a small reel on the bolt ? That's how my old one used to work.

Surprised there isn't a spacer that comes off to allow the little reels. Otherwise buy the small reel and cut the middle out of it.

Will have a look.
I could add a rod vertically inside the welder, so that the line comes of in roughly the same place as it would normally, but not sure if the friction would be to much for the wire feed motor to handle. Maybe sitting it on a tapered roller bearing would be enough to protect the motor.

Which type of stainless wire should I be looking for, as there are a lot of different numbers to choose from.
